The basic principle of ToF is to transmit a modulated light pulse through an infrared transmitter. After encountering an object reflection, the receiver receives the reflected light pulse, and calculates the distance to the object based on the round-trip time of the light pulse. This kind of modulation method has higher requirements for the transmitter and receiver, the speed of light is so fast, and it has extremely high precision requirements for time measurement.
